Unable to open communications port. The port is either in use by another telephony application or is not supported.

Press the spacebar on your keyboard for the main menu.

1. Bring up "Close Program" with "ctrl-alt-delete" to check for anything that might hold a com port.
2. Make sure the computer can talk to the modem by going through "Diagnostics" and "More Info". ("Control Panel,double click "Modems",highlight comport,select "diagnostics".)
3. Do an echo in DOS: C:/echo atdt>com2     (com2 being number of comport.Don't add C:/. It will already be there.)
4. Take out anything in the "Startup" group in the taskbar properties.
5. Look in the "win.ini" file for load= and run=. Also rem out anything in autoexec.bat that is running at startup.
