Press the spacebar on your keyboard for the main menu.
1. Bring up "Close Program" with "ctrl-alt-delete" to check for anything that might hold a com port. ![]()
2. Make sure the computer can talk to the modem by going through "Diagnostics" and "More Info". ("Control Panel,double click "Modems",highlight comport,select "diagnostics".)
3. Do an echo in DOS: C:/echo atdt>com2     (com2 being number of comport.Don't add C:/. It will already be there.)
4. Take out anything in the "Startup" group in the taskbar properties.
5. Look in the "win.ini" file for load= and run=. Also rem out anything in autoexec.bat that is running at startup.
